Geocache Description:

A popular wildflower around the world, the forget-me-not’s gorgeous, soft blue blooms delight in the early season garden or meadow.

Forget-me-nots are any one of a number of species of flowering plants in the genus Myosotis.[1] Its common name was calqued from German, Vergissmeinnicht and first used in English in AD 1398 through King Henry IV.[2] Similar names and variations are found in many languages. It is also the Alaska state flower.

One or two European species, especially the wood forget-me-not, Myosotis sylvatica have been introduced into most of the temperate regions of Europe, Asia and the Americas.

Henry IV adopted the flower as his symbol during his exile in 1398, and retained the symbol upon his return to England the following year.[4]

In 15th-century Germany, it was supposed that the wearers of the flower would not be forgotten by their lovers. Legend has it that in medieval times, a knight and his lady were walking along the side of a river. He picked a posy of flowers, but because of the weight of his armour he fell into the river. As he was drowning he threw the posy to his loved one and shouted "forget me not". It was often worn by ladies as a sign of faithfulness and enduring love.

The similar white flowers beyond the cache may look look white Forget-me-nots but are not. They are Sweet Woodruff. Check the leaves.

This cache is off Genung Rd, between Ellis Hollow Rd and Ellis Hollow Creek Rd. There's parking at the E.H. Community Center for the trail, which starts at the gate across the field to the north. The trail is marked with white blazes.

The cache is a  camoed "small" pill bottle with a rolled log that's held tight with a rubber band, to make it fit nicely in the little zip lock plastic bag and the bottle. Please put the rubber band on your finger while you log. That makes it easier to keep track of it. It's tied in. BYOP. No tweezers, please. They kill the plastic.
