Help! I can't find my cache! I was at the posted coordinates, right there in the field, and I'm sure I had everything with me. I took off running down the trail for a few seconds, going due north. How fast was I going? 10 mph? No way, that's too fast for this guy...and 10 sounds too easy for a calculation anyway. So let's say 7 mph. I'm sure I could keep that up for the 19.14 seconds that I ran north. How far was that? But then the trail turned east! I kept running, for another 38.04 seconds. What's that, like a minute? I'm bushed. That cache has to be right around here somewhere. It has to be!
Wait a sec, is this another one of those vector addition puzzles? Or maybe I can figure this out on a map. Let's see, a degree of latitude is pretty consistent; I think it's about 111 km. But wait! Differences in longitude are much greater! How do I account for that? Do I need to? Maybe none of this is right. Maybe I ran much faster than I thought! Maybe slower! Maybe I changed speeds! What do I do! Someone help!
One thing I do know is that the terrain here was quite slippery in the rain. Lots of clay. Bring your hiking shoes and/or walking stick. But hurry!
