Geocache Description:

By far the coolest Chicago Park feature, the 30' tall Cable Stayed Suspension bridge, features 2 towers and 3 sections of bridge. This is a great friend/family cache and a great place to take some photos!

Opening to the public Dec 13, 2014, this bridge celebrates the 419th anniversary of the first known published suspension bridge. (Ok, I made up the celebration part.) As a child of the 80's, I also find myself loving the "hamburglerish" play area with massive slide.

*Note* This is an offset cache!

Please respect the park hours and rules!

If doing this cache after dark, please don't do it alone! Be safe and use common sense - it is Chicago!

Please, safely, follow all traffic signals, safety personnel and be cognizant of any events closing off the area to GZ.

WATCH OUT for people using the bike path!!! They could be going very fast and pedestrians should assume THEY WILL HIT YOU if you are in their path.

Step 1: Determine the year of the first known published suspension bridge. (The picture above.) Also published in the same book, is the first depiction of the parachute!

Step 2: Determine the number of physical planks/boards suspended on the walkway of the suspension bridge in the park. If a plank can move, it is suspended. If the plank is screwed down, it is not suspended.

Step 3: Start your way towards GZ. Proceed East out of the park, across Lake Shore Drive, to the East side of the lake front path.

Step 4: Proceed to the South end of the Divvy Bike Station.

Step 5: Using the number found in Step 2, walk that many feet due South, according to a compass.

Step 6: You should be within feet of GZ, so make the find it. The number found in Step 1 will be needed here!

Step 7: Take a pic of the signed log, in a place that won't give away the location, and post it, if it hasn't been done lately!

Step 8: If you appreciate adding this T/D to your finds and think the bridge is awesome, please favorite this GC! It was better than testing this parachute?
