Geocache Description:

Negishiyama Daishyou-in is the Buddhist temple near JR Negishi station.

A chief priest in the Hosei temple where now is also inside the Minami-ku trench in this hospital, in 1536 (1536), kaisou, it's a temple with history for close to 500 years. When a temple school was also established in Bakumatsu period, and a record of Negishi elementary school "will Takashi school building" was born in 1873, the class borrowed a main hall in this hospital, and was begun by approximately 30 children, and the schoolhouse was continued until built 1880. The main hall and the kitchen of a temple were overthrown and damaged, and at a great earthquake in 1923, a gate was reconstructed in 1934.

Powerful "red dragon" is drawn in the main hall ceiling. An author is the author of "red" who represents a Japanese painting circle and Gensou Okuda painter. Pupils' pretty flowers color the drawn turn of "red dragon" for wife's name in ga where Mrs. Ryuushi was offered up to an anniversary memorial service 7 times in 1981. Additionally a sculpture in Edo middle term "dragon of pray for rain" and a called transom are also left now. There is history which soaked this transom in an underseaness until the time end of Meiji actually and used it for a ceremony of pray for rain.

根岸山大聖院は、JR根岸駅近くにある仏教寺院です。
当院は南区堀の内に今もある宝生寺の住僧が天文五年（１５３６年）に開創した５００年近い歴史のある寺院です。幕末期には寺子屋も開設され、明治六年に根岸小学校の前身「志敬学舎」が誕生した時は当院の本堂を借用し、児童およそ３０名で授業が始められ、校舎が新築される明治十三年まで続けられました。大正十二年の大震災の時、門は倒れ、本堂や庫裏は破損し、昭和九年に再建されました。
本堂天井には、力強い「赤龍」が描かれています。作者は日本画壇を代表する「赤」の作家・奥田元宋画伯。昭和５６年に、龍子夫人の７回忌供養に奉納された画で、夫人の名にちなんで描かれた「赤龍」のまわりを門人たちの可憐な花々が彩ります。その他、江戸中期の彫刻「雨乞いの竜」と呼ばれる欄間が今も残っています。この欄間は、実際に明治末ごろまで、海中に浸して雨ごいの儀式に使っていた歴史あるものです。
