The Ridderhaven is a small harbour near the village of Ridderkerk, Zuid Holland, connected to river De Noord. De harbour is mainly used as recreactional marina. Little history of the harbour is known. Around 1430 the harbour is first described, however the location at that time was far more close to the centre of Ridderkerk. De nearby small national park Ridderkerkse Grienden and park De Gorzen have nice walking opportunities. River Noord is mainly used for inland shipping. Regularly the Waterbus passes by, maintaining line-services over water between Dordrecht and Rotterdam. The Ridderhaven has a caractaristic distribution- and offices-centre in the shape of an enormous ship.
