This is one of a series I am doing based in Crimdon Dene to replace those that have become Archived
Crimdon Dene is a lovely place to walk, play and enjoy a picnic in. Parking is available at the top of the dene, I have know this place since I was very small when my parents brought me here. It has change a lot since those early days not always for the better. When I was young there was pavilion and entertainment hall at the top and in the dene itself a paddling pool, bandstand, little tin huts which you could hire and many seats all in the main bowl of the dene. In many ways the local council is returning the dene to nature but not by design, it is because of cost in maintaining the various amenities. ( The paddling pool was destroyed by a large land slip)
After coming down from the top to the bowl of the dene
This cache is close to one of those old seats, which is derelict.
