CACHE: This is a high traffic area and for that reason might not be too kid friendly or winter friendly for that matter and will be disabled during parts of the winter. Park and grab, plenty of room at GZ on the shoulder to park. A good cover would be to get a selfie with the Welcome To Dryden sign. Who could pass that up? You're looking for a small camoed container with very little room, enough for a log book and some coins.
HISTORY: Fancher School was named for Richard Fancher and his family, who is one of the earliest and prominent members of the Dryden and Attica communities. He was a contributor to his town in many ways besides donating the land and a good portion of the funds to build the school. It held at one time 2 classrooms and eventuall 4 classrooms, so it's much larger than the typical school and odd for being so far away from a town. It was ran similar to a union school. It closed to classes in the early 1960's and today is a private residence and well cared for. More history on the Fanchers and the school can be found in many local history books written about the area and county.
