Le agenzie di informazione hanno battuto una notizia incredibile: la notte scorsa il famoso musicista, nonchè appassionato di informatica, Lu Lyck, è stato aggredito nella sua residenza di campagna, al numero 66 di Via dei Lucchetti. Sebbene le intenzioni dell'aggressore fossero chiaramente omicide, Lu Lyck è stato fortunato e se l'è cavata riportando solo delle ferite. Lu non ricorda nulla dell'aggressione (forse a causa dello shock o, più probabilmente, a causa dell'età avanzata). Ricorda solo di essere andato a letto verso l'una e di essersi ripreso malconcio verso le quattro.
Cinque loschi personaggi (John lo sfregiato, Frank la furia, Bob il guercio, Nick il bestia e Jack il pazzo), già noti alla polizia e agli abitanti della zona, sono stati visti nei dintorni della casa di Lu durante la notte. Ciascuno di loro è stato notato con un'arma in mano, con un indumento preciso, in un orario diverso a partire dall'1 e 40 fino alle 3 e 20. I cinque sono stati fermati dalla polizia la mattina successiva. Il colpevole è sicuramente uno di loro, sì... ma chi? Sono dei veri duri, nessuno ha confessato e per il momento non esistono ancora prove schiaccianti a carico di nessuno di loro. Forse se si ritrovasse l'arma con le impronte...
Otto testimoni (il Medico, il Lattaio, il Barbiere, il Postino, il Panettiere, il Pensionato, il Rappresentante e il Macellaio) si trovavano in zona la notte scorsa e hanno visto i sospettati aggirarsi nei dintorni. Ciascun testimone ha potuto fornire informazioni utili in base a ciò che ricorda di aver visto. La polizia ha raccolto le deposizioni ma, come si dice in questi casi, brancola ancora nel buio... Lu Lyck è terrorizzato, la polizia non viene a capo di niente e teme che il criminale, nel frattempo, possa attentare nuovamente alla sua vita. Pertanto, sapendo che i Geocacher hanno un intuito eccezionale e un'intelligenza decisamente superiore alla media, ti ha assoldato come investigatore privato (Lu ha promesso una lauta ricompensa a chi risolverà il caso!). In qualità di investigatore dovrai interrogare a tua volta i testimoni (ovviamente la polizia non deve saperlo), mettere insieme gli elementi, ricostruire i fatti e risolvere il caso! Purtroppo i testimoni sono molto impegnati e non sono sempre raggiungibili. Dovrai trovare il momento opportuno per interrogarli, tenendo conto che:
- il Medico è spesso impegnato in visite, lo puoi trovare la mattina del Lunedì e del Giovedì dalle 08.00 alle 11.00
- il Lattaio durante la settimana e la Domenica è impossibile trovarlo. E' disponibile solo il Sabato, dalle 17.00 alle 20.00
- il Barbiere è disponibile per l'interrogatorio il Martedì e il Venerdì dalle 10.00 alle 14.00
- il Postino è presente solo nei weekend, dalle 14.00 alle 17.00
- il Panettiere è molto anziano (più o meno coetaneo di Lu), è molto stanco e di giorno riposa. Lo trovi mentre inforna il pane di notte dalle 02.00 alle 04.00, Domenica esclusa
- il Pensionato è un tipo strano… ha tanto tempo libero, scompare dalla circolazione tutti i giorni dispari del mese (dicono che vada a cercare scatolette nascoste in giro), mentre nei giorni pari è a casa, facilmente reperibile dalle 09.00 alle 20.00
- il Rappresentante visita continuamente clienti, weekend inclusi. Però il Mercoledì si prende sempre una giornata di riposo e in quel giorno lo puoi trovare, ma solo dalle 10.00 alle 17.00
- il Macellaio, fra la gestione del negozio e impegni vari, non c'è praticamente mai: però ha l'abitudine la Domenica mattina di fare una corsetta nel parco dalle 05.00 alle 06.00, è l'unica occasione in cui, correndo di fianco a lui, puoi chiedergli cosa ha visto.
Da ciascuno degli otto interrogatori potrai sapere:
- cosa ricorda di aver visto il testimone
- quale numero di protocollo è stato assegnato dalla polizia all'interrogatorio di quel testimone.
Le testimonianze ti serviranno per ricostruire gli eventi, mentre i numeri protocollo ti consentiranno (solo alla fine di tutti gli interrogatori) di accedere al fascicolo riservato della polizia, dove troverai il verbale ufficiale e ulteriori indicazioni per risolvere definitivamente il giallo.
Se riuscirai a chiudere il caso e a trovare l'arma con le impronte, potrai incastrare il criminale e Lu Lyck potrà tornare a dormire sonni tranquilli!

Eight witnesses (the Doctor, the Milkman, the Barber, the Postman, the Baker, the Retired, the Salesman and the Butcher) were in the area last night and saw the suspects wandering around. Each witness was able to provide useful information based on what they remember seeing. The police have collected the depositions but they are far away from solving the case. Lu Lyck is terrified and fears that the criminal in the meantime may make again an attempt on his life. Therefore, knowing that the Geocachers have exceptional intuition and a clearlly above-average intelligence, he hired you as a private detective. As a detective you will have to interrogate the witnesses in turn (obviously the police don't have to know it), put the elements together, assess the facts and solve the case! Unfortunately, the witnesses are very busy and they are not always reachable. You will have to find the right moment to question them, taking into account that:
- the Doctor is often engaged in visits, you can find him Monday and Thursday morning from 08.00 to 11.00 CET
- the Milkman during the week and on Sunday is always busy, he is available only on Saturday, from 17.00 to 20.00 CET
- the Barber is available for interrogation on Tuesday and Friday from 10.00 to 14.00 CET
- the Postman is present only during the weekends, Saturday and Sunday, from 14.00 to 17.00 CET
- the Baker is very old and very tired and rests during the day. You can find him while baking the bread at night from 02.00 to 04.00 CET, excluding Sunday
- the Retired disappears every odd day of the month (they say he goes looking for hidden boxes...), while on even days he is at home, available from 09.00 to 20.00 CET
- the Salesman continuously visits customers, weekends included. But Wednesday he always takes a day off and on that day you can find him, but only from 10.00 to 17.00 CET
- the Butcher, is very busy, never at home. However, he has the habit on Sunday morning to take a run in the park from 05.00 to 06.00 CET, it is the only occasion in which, running alongside him, you can ask him what he saw.
Interviewing each witness, you will know:
- what the witness remembers seeing
- what protocol number was assigned by the police to the interrogation of that witness.
What all witnesses remember will help you to assess the facts, while protocol numbers (only at the end of all the interrogations) will allow you to access the police secret file, where you will find the official report and further indications needed to solve the case.
If you can close the case and find the weapon with the fingerprints, you can frame the criminal and Lu Lyck can go back to sleep peacefully!
