Geocache Description:

The Texas Spirit Quest
is a series of Caches placed by many individuals, near cemeteries and historic sites in hopes of paying respect to the many pioneer ancestors that have ‘walked’ before us.

There are hundreds of cemeteries in the rural communities across Texas. This series will introduce you to many of them. The cache pages will provide a virtual history tour of the cemeteries, tombstones and local lore.

There are 49 interments here at this Anglo-Swedish site, with dates of death ranging from 1899 to 2007. Roughly half the burials are for members of the Johnson family (five of them named Carl), and there are seven Tholins and then a smattering of others.

The grounds at the time of placement were in good shape. The site is easily accessible with parking room for one car. It is surrounded by a chain link fence with an unlocked gate. There is not a historical marker at this location, but one can be found not too far away near the intersection of Manda Carlson and Wells School. As always, any refinements to the listed coordinates are welcomed.
