Geocache Description:

This geocache is located at one of several "northern suburbs" of the “Lost City of Volvon,” a significant Native American site in the Morgan Territory area. The Lost City and its suburbs have well over 1000 mortar holes, which were used by members of the Volvon tribe of Bay Miwok Indians to grind acorns and other food items.

This is a particularly remarkable site, in that it contains some 72 mortar holes, with 13 on one rock! Take a minute to view the rock with the 13 holes, which is only a few feet away from the cache.

Note that there is significant poison oak in the cache area -- be careful.

Come and enjoy this great site, but PLEASE DO NOT DISTURB, HARM OR REMOVE any Native American items, as they are strictly protected by federal and state laws.
