Geocache Description:

This geocache is located at one of several "northern suburbs" of the “Lost City of Volvon,” a significant Native American site in the Morgan Territory area. The Lost City and its suburbs have well over 1000 mortar holes, which were used by members of the Volvon tribe of Bay Miwok Indians to grind acorns and other food items.

For additional details on the Lost City, see the Lost City of Volvon geocache.

This particular site was NOT on a reference map we have used to find the other Volvon caches -- we just noticed it as we walked by!  Yet there are several interesting mortar holes here.  How many other sites in the Morgan Territory area are just waiting for someone to notice?

Note that there is some poison oak in the cache area -- be careful.

Come and enjoy this great site, but PLEASE DO NOT DISTURB, HARM OR REMOVE any Native American items, as they are strictly protected by federal and state laws.
