One of them wire-bound rock walls. This one was built just a little too close to the riverbank. This end of it is standing strong, and so is the other end. It's the unhappy middle that fell in. Must be a political metaphor in there somewhere...
A lot of work and a lot of bridge closure in recent years seems to be almost done. A new driveway and parking lot makes it easy to reach this GZ just a few steps away from where you might park. A great view of the Red River and the Courchaine Bridge, which is also the water control structure that diverts the Red into the Floodway in those nasty high water years. You can't see the Floodway from here though. People like to bring a rod and reel and fish around here, so now that there's an official parking lot, it'll be busier than ever. So after you're done fishing for caches, why not toss a line in and try your luck. Never know what you'll pull out.
