This box is hidden on the path leading to the ruins of the church of St. Helen .
Today only the remains of the church dedicated to Saint Helen (248-328/330) , the mother of Roman Emperor Constantine the Great and patron saint of the poor , have survived . She is credit ed with the discovery of the relics of the True Cross , so she is also locally known as Saint Helen of the Cross . The first mention of the church dates back to 1381 and the Last Will and Testament of the parish priest of Dobrinj . In the middle of the 16.century members of the Brotherhood of St. Helen convened at the church , but the last mention of the church as a place of worship is in the Canonical Visitation of 1780 while in 1827 only references to is remnants can be found . It is one of rare examples of the celebration of St.Helen on Krk . Today the site not far from Soline Bay is referred to as Pod Svetu Jelenu...
