The Swartberg pass is one of the "must do passes in the Western Cape" and offers brilliant views over the Klein Karoo. As there are so many beautiful viewing stops along the pass, we decided to place another cache at one of them. When you come here, do not just drive and stop at the caches located all along the road, but stop often and get out of your vehicle to really take in the spectacular views on offer. The pass could be driven in a normal family sedan and it is not a must to come here in a 4X4. In winter there are almost always snowfall, which could cause road closures at times. Care should be taken if there is snow or even in the rainy season. The Swartberg Pass is a gravel road.
The cache is hidden in rocky place and care should be taken when ascending these rocks. Parents should take special care of younger children. These rocks could become slippery when wet.
