This cache is placed in the John Burroughs Memorial Field State Historic Site in Roxbury, NY. The site is the location of John Burrough's grave and his boyhood stomping grounds. It is a beautiful and peaceful site - please take a few moments to sit on "his" rock and enjoy the...peace.
Upon this rock once sat a man
Whose name you often see
Here looking out on all the land
John Burroughs came to be
“I love this land” he wrote of this
These hills became his own
He wrote his words for all to read
Of the beauty lesser known
This large rock is not hard to find,
But this geocache might be.
If you get distracted by this view,
Where all who come are free.
