Goodman Mountain is on Rt. 30 South of Tupper Lake. There is ample parking at the trail register just off the road. Follow a paved trail to the coordinates, a nice walk. Cache is a camo'ed coffee can with various items. Trillium and a bear were out today.
Goodman Mountain is part of the Tupper Lake Triad of Coney Mountain, Goodman Mountain and Arab Mountain. Contact the Tupper Lake Chamber of Commerce after you climb all 3 and receive a patch. Andrew Goodman and his family were summer residents of the Tupper Lake area. He was killed in the race riots in Mississippi in 1964. The story was the setting for Mississippi Burning. The mountain was recently named after him.
