peanuttier: It is with a sad heart I have to archive this cache. It was specially made for this location and it has disappeared. Also the log it was in is deteriorating.

Geocache Description:

The Eastern Adams County Geocaching Hunt is on. A wide range of animals call this country their home. You may not find the animals on your visit, and may not want to, but their caching ‘cousins’ are sure to give you a smiley!

**Please note this cache is not located near the railroad tracks**

This is one animal that is actually mild tempered, and will only defend itself when cornered and attacked. And unlike most other animals, the skunk advertises its identity with bold coloration.

Skunks are beneficial to farmers, gardeners and landowners because they feed on large numbers of agricultural and garden pests. Interesting fact: they will roll caterpillars on the ground to remove the hairs before eating them. They will also roll beetles that emit a defensive scent, causing the beetle to deplete its scent before they eat it.

You are looking for a micro just big enough for a log. Bring your own pen or pencil to sign the log. It is placed on private property with permission. Please respect the area.
