Members of the Open Brethren held their first meeting in 1930. They met in temporary premises until Lyndhurst Chapel, built by members of the church, opened in 1936.
Over 20 years ago, a group of people who were part of New Community Church in Sidcup, began meeting together in Bexleyheath, firstly in a home and then in a local school. This small group became Bexleyheath Community Church. They now meet in Lyndhurst Chapel.
