Ex BT Phone Box Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

martin&lindabryn: Due to safety concerns the council have asked me to remove the cache from this location.
I am looking for a new location for this hide to be reincarnated. As it has been a popular hide in the short time it survived.

Commiseration to Zuess55 for the first logged DNF 15/5/2016

Although I don’t think he is the only one to have looked today

A bit of information about the phone box that I have coped from Zuess55 log after he got muggled while trying to find the cache That’s when I noticed the gentleman across the road smiling at me from his gateway. Here we go again! So I meandered over to him and said I was on a treasure hunt “well thank you for telling me that explains why so many people are visiting the phone box all of a sudden” – strange there are not more DNF’s then! – He turned out to be a great chap and I met his wife , we spent ages chatting about the phone box – did you know that this one has had 8 cache boxes stolen out of it. One thief used a gas welding kit from the boot of his car to cut out one of the cash boxes. The post man was in charge of emptying the cash every two weeks and the box in the next village was stolen in broad daylight concrete base and all. The village is saving funds to repaint this box and has put out requests for volunteers to paint it. The gentleman was told by his good lady to go and have a look as your good at finding things so he did but neither of us knew what we were looking for. He has asked me to mention that it is still wired up to the mains for the interior light to work at night.
