Playground 101 Letterbox Hybrid

This cache has been archived.

TJPost: We've loved all of the positive comments we've received about this cache. It was fun to put it together with our niece. The county took out the playground and is in the process of replacing it with a new playground. So, sadly, we're archiving this one. Hopefully, we can do another fun adventure on the new playground.

Geocache Description:

The coordinates on the cache page will bring you to a parking lot.  You will start your adventure there.  Please leave the stamp and stamp pad in the container; they are there for those who bring a book to place stamps in.

We will put a new stamp and stamp pad in the cache if it stays in place, it was getting expensive to keep replacing them.

When our 9-year-old grandniece, Bailey, learned that her sister Abbie had placed a letterbox cache (Play, Walk...Adventure!) she asked if she could also place a letterbox.  Of course!  So, we created a container, filled it full of swag and headed out.  In order to find this cache you will need to follow Bailey's instructions.

Park your car at the posted coords and walk between the boulders.  Run over to the tire swings and get a grown up to give you a push (or two).  After your ride on the tires head over to the little kids playground and go up the steps.  Play a game of tic-tac-toe with someone and then go down the covered slide.  At the bottom you will see a space ship - awesome, hop on and blast off!

After you have finished riding the space ship head over to the big kids playground and play some music.  Then climb the rock wall to the covered area on top.  You will see two slides - a bumpy one and a twisty one - go down the twisty slide.  Now you should be facing a hill.  Go across the pavement and then see how long it takes to run up the hill to the park bench (it took Bailey 17 seconds).  Sit on the bench and look to your right. About 15 feet away you will see a tree. Look around the tree for a huge, old tree (you'll be looking towards the road and the tree is partway down the hill). Update: the county cut down the tree - now you are looking for a huge stump. Walk over there and find the treasure tucked up against a cut off tree.

HEAD TOWARDS THE ROAD, THE GIANT STUMP IS PARTWAY DOWN THE HILL. THE STUMP IS 4 FOOT IN DIAMETER.

After you sign your name or stamp the logbook, cover up the container very thoroughly, walk across the clearing and run back down to the pavement (Bailey did it in 11 seconds). Or, optional:  roll down the hill!  Then play on the playground some more and then let us know all about your adventures!
