Geocache Description:

This cache takes West River's Edge wetlands area in Fort Saskatchewan adjacent to Red Coat Landing. Go visit the walking and bike trails, you might be lucky to see a Sturgeon in the River!

Watch out for bicycles on the trails

West River Edge cache leads you to great walking and biking trails on the west shore of the North Saskatchewan River. Look out for Sturgeon! Sturgeons are like living fossils. Today’s lakes sturgeon looks almost the same as their ancestors who lived 100 million years ago. Fish use the entire river, travelling east of Prince Albert and back every year. That’s a round trip of over 1,800 km!
