Lawrence is a small provincial town with a long history dating back to the 19th century gold rushes.
Today, the main street presents the frontage of a pioneer town. While located away from the main centre are many intriguing gems of whimsical and historical attraction. Quaintly styled houses, and gardens, and places of historic activity to warrant a second look, can be found in the side streets.
Back Street is just a little narrow lane running along the back of the shops at the west end of the town, explore on foot for preference, as there is not really any parking. Please take care with children, as there are no footpaths in this area.
