Geocache Description:

The Cache:

The Cache can be done as a stand-alone Cache or as part of the Rebels Cave trail. The Cache is to the rear of the sad rock. To complete the Rebels Cave Trail, you must continue to the Cache Machine Cache GCHP7G... The cache container is a pet tube. .

There is no requirement to record a number at this cache. Just sign the Log Book and be on your way.

The location:

The Cache is placed just off the Tunnel OF Love track beside a rather sad-looking Rock. This track is a shortcut between the Zig Zagging forest tracks. This track was renamed the Tunnel of Pain by Jedheads due to the heavy gorse in places. Wear trousers for this section of the trail.  you have been warned crying 

 

Leave no Trace:  

The Cache is placed in accordance with Coilte Leave no Trace principle...Please follow this principle and protect the beauty of Glenmalure, why not bring a plastic bag and practice CITO.....observe the country code..

 

Be Prepared:

The Rebels cave trail requires proper footwear, Raingear, maps, GPS, a compass, and a sense of adventure.

The not many people know that fact about Glenmalure. Where you started your journey at the car park, was once the scene of a terrible tragedy, when in Mar 1867, a massive landslide swept away part of the smelting house taking with it two young girls, daughters of a mining official.
