This cache use to be part of the TCAatSC series. That series has since been removed from the park. This cache was by far my favorite cache in the series, so instead of archiving it and then resubmitting it. I am just redoing the full page for this cache. You will be seeking a smaller lock n lock container close to a waterfall, which is mostly dry most of the year. However, if water is flowing over the falls, you will get wet searching for it. You will need to have a keen eye for searching this container as it blends in extremely well with its surroundings.
Now for the very important piece of information. If you are seeking this cache and using the newly installed Waterfall Trail, you MOST stay on the Waterfall Trail until the very bottom! DO NOT GO OVER THE SIDE OF THE WATERFALL TRAIL AND HEAD STRAIGHT FOR THIS CACHE!!! I have gotten special permission from the Allegheny County Park Rangers for keeping this cache here. If you are already on the Green Trail and coming from the opposite direction, you are safe. Once you have reached the bottom of the hill on the Waterfall Trail, then you can proceed back to the cache. The park rangers DO NOT want any trails established going over the edge of the Waterfall Trail. They have a sign up on the trail telling people to stay on the trail. DO NOT RUIN THIS FOR OTHERS!
Please note that Settler’s Cabin is open from 8 AM to Dusk daily. This means ABSOLUTELY no night caching! Please abide to this rule so there are no problems with county police and the parks office. All caches have been approved by the county park system, so they know these caches are here. Be mindful of your surroundings, as muggles will be scene on the trails.
