Once the stopping point for the stagecoach as it travelled from Whitehaven to Barrow, Gosforth is a plesant little village with lots of places to eat.
There is free parking in the main car park and lots of interesting things to see in the village, the Viking Cross located in the church yard of Saint Marys attracts visitors from far and wide and is well worth a short detour into the church yard as you pass if your heading for the other caches on this village circuit.
