Geocache Description:

This is to commemorate Beatrix Potter's birth 150 years ago with a geocache series.

So, along with the others in this series, it is a relatively easy cache about a mile from the Glossop town centre. There are a number of ways find Jenny, simply walking straight up from the town centre, it is a bit of a steep hill.

Beatrix Potter bought Hill Top farm in a village in the Lake District and this led to Beatrix becoming established as a major owner of Herdwick sheep in the area. She purchased additional farms to preserve the unique hill country landscape and she left thousands of acres to the National Trust for us, the public to enjoy. What a great and talented woman!

Jenny Wren is a friend to Mrs. Tiggy Winkle, who does washing for the little bird. This is an easy cache and good for new starters. It can be accessed via a walk up from the centre or you can do this via the other caches below in a 3-4 mile roundabout walk in the Glossop area

Squirrel Nutkins

Peter Rabbit returns

Hunca Munca

Beautiful Quarry

Mrs. Tittlemouse

Mrs. Tiggy Winkle

Haybecks2

Grumpy Owl

Jeremy Fisher

Jemima Puddleduck

Enjoy the walk if you manage to complete the whole route. Lovely any time of year for giving you a view of Glossop and its surrounding countryside.
