A small cache located in the centre of Parc Seymour. This is the start of my circular walk taking in the edge of Wentwood. The walk is approximately 3 miles and consists of lanes a few stiles, fields and woodland paths. The terrain is quite varied with one or two steeper sections and some uneven terrain. After finding the cache take the middle lane towards Duckpool to start the walk. Nearby are a couple of woodcarved benches sculpted by a local woodcarver.
My first cache placed in the centre of Parc Seymour which is a residential area of Penhow a village just off the A48 road close to Newport. Parc Seymour gets its name from the famous Seymour family because nearby Penhow castle is the first known British home of the St Maur alias Seymour family which rose to national prominence in the 16th century in the person of Queen Jane Seymour, the third wife of King Henry V111. In 2008 following its closure, the Penhow community banded together to finance and re-generate the village shop. Since re-opening the shop has been managed and operated by the community and its staff are all volunteers. Congratulations to steview100 FTF
