Geocache Description:

This geocache is placed as part of

We hope that you enjoy this series, and are able to discover many of the places
that make the area unique and special.

Named for the family that donated the original acreage, the Schleman Nature Preserve will remain undeveloped for the enjoyment of nature and wildlife viewing in accordance with their wishes.

Park hours are from 8:00 a.m. to sunset. Absolutely NO night caching!

The posted coordinates will take you to the parking area for the Schleman Nature Preserve.
There is no geocache/letterbox at this location!
You must find this letterbox/geocache by following the instructions below:

Round trip distance from the parking lot is less than a mile
(0.65 mi. if you backtrack after finding the letterbox; 0.9 mi. if you complete the loop.)
Trails may be muddy at certain times of year or if there have been recent rains,
so please wear appropriate footwear. Bug spray might also be a good idea!
Don't say you haven't been warned!

OK-- Let's go!

* Walk through the evergreen forest. When you emerge from the pines, continue along the yellow trail.

* Just before you reach the bridge, there is a very large bur oak tree.
Additional logging REQUEST: take a photo of yourself/your caching team at this tree
and post it to your log.

* Cross over the bridge and take the left fork in the path. The trail will soon curve to the right.

* When the trail intersects another, turn right.

* About 125' away, you will see a very large fallen tree.
The geocache is hidden right next to the trail where the top of the fallen tree
meets the base of the tree that is right next to the trail.

There is a rubber stamp inside this container. IT IS NOT SWAG! Please do not take it!
Letterboxers, please bring your own ink. There is no ink pad in the container.

* After signing the log, swapping some SWAG, and stamping your letterboxing book (if you have one),
you may return to the starting point.

* Before you leave, please camouflage the geocache with natural material
so that it is not visible from the trail.
