Le chiese di Gambellara
Questa breve ma intensa multi vi porterà a visitare le due chiese di Gambellara: la Chiesa di San Pietro da cui partirete e la chiesetta di San Marco in cima al monte San Marco.
San Pietro Apostolo
La chiesa, di cui si trova memoria risalente al 1322, venne integralmente ricostruita ed inaugurata nell’anno 1880 su progetto dell’abate Leonardo Manzuti. Alla facciata si accede tramite una monumentale scalinata ideata da don Domenico Framarin che, probabilmente, si ispirò a quella di Trinità dei Monti.
San Marco
E’ stata la prima costruita a Gambellara ed è di origini antichissime (forse era facente parte del castello ora non più esistente). A metà degli anni cinquanta fu oggetto di aspra contesa perché sorgeva sull’omonimo monte divenuto cava di basalto che ne rendeva necessaria l’eliminazione. Venne demolita il 13 maggio 1957 per lasciare spazio all’estrazione del basalto. La sua memoria, mai sopita, ne consentì la ricostruzione (in scala ridotta rispetto all’originale) e venne riconsegnata alla popolazione il 25 aprile 2003.

Per trovare la cache dovrete andare allo Stage 1 dove potrete leggere un’iscrizione sull’arco del campanile. Nella prima riga c’è una data che dovete interpretare come AB/C/DEFG

Gambellara churches
This short but intense multi, takes you to visit the two churches of Gambellara: the Church of San Pietro from which you will depart and the San Marco church on the San Marco Mount.
San Pietro Apostolo
The church, which is memory dating back to 1322, was completely rebuilt and inaugurated in 1880 to a design of the abbot Leonardo Manzuti. In front of the facade there is a monumental staircase designed by don Domenico Framarin that probably was inspired by Trinità dei Monti.
San Marco
It was the first church built in Gambellara and is of ancient origin (maybe that was part of the castle now no longer exists). It was the subject of bitter dispute because it stood on the mountain become a basalt quarry that required the elimination. May 13, 1957 was demolished to make room for the extraction of basalt. His memory, never dormant, allowed the reconstruction (reduced from the original scale) and was given back to the people April 25, 2003.
The cache
To find the cache you have to go to Stage 1 where you can read an inscription on the arc of the bell tower. In the first line there is a date that must be interpreted as AB/C/DEFG.
