We had pulled off the side of the road, not necessarily to place a cache...but as I stood there, outside of the car, eyeing the landscape around us, I looked across the street from where we were parked, and asked Jack, "Do you think anyone would climb up there to find a cache?" He looked, and thought for a moment...but sounded a little skeptical, stating that the landscape was steep, and a little bit unstable...so it probably wasn't the best place for a cache. I kept looking, and made a few comments about how geocaches are supposed to be difficult, aren't they? And geocachers are supposed to be brave, aren't they? Jack just looked at me and remarked that I wouldn't climb up there anyway...and that's when Berli piped in and agreed! I asked them why they didn't think I'd climb the steep hill, and they both told me there was no way I'd make it up there, especially in my heeled boots. WELL!!! Of course I disagreed with them, and told them that I could for sure climb up there...even in my boots! Afterall...these boots hadn't stopped me yet (although I did have to remove them on the downhill climb for one of Berli's caches not that long ago). So...they dared me!! They told me that if I actually climbed up there and made it to the top, they would take me out for frozen yogurt. It wasn't about the frozen yogurt...it was about proving them wrong: that's why I accepted the challenge, but...I told them that if I climbed up there, and made it to the top, I was definitely hiding a cache up there. The challenge and bet was on!! Guess who won? Uh huh...and that is why I am now typing this post! :) I made it to the top...following the little deer trail, with my high heel boots on, with no problems. As I arrived at the top of the steep embankment, I heard someone climbing up behind me...it was Jack. HA HA! I asked what he was doing up there, and he said that he climbed up to help get my butt back down! LOL! I told him that I didn't need his help...but actually, getting back down was not quite as easy as the climb up. I decided to slide down, almost the entire way, on my rear end...yea...the rocky ground was indeed a little more unstable on the downhill than on the uphill...for some reason. But, mission accomplished.
The drive out here to this spot was amazing...I've never been out this road before, but loved it! Such views to be seen along the way. so many places to hide caches (in the future). Be careful finding this cache...it's an easy find, but a little challenging getting there and back.
Happy Caching!

P.S. Don't forget your pen: you won't want to hike up there twice!
