Geocache Description:

Bald Mountain is a prominent peak in Lackawanna County which stands above the Wilkes-Barre and Scranton area and the Wyoming Valley. From the summit you may view the northernmost extension of the geologic province known as the Glaciated Low Plateaus section. It is a great place for photography.

Pinnacle Rock Trail is a 3.7 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Clarks Summit, PA and is only recommended for very experienced adventurers.wink The trail is primarily used for hiking and is accessible from March until November. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash. A few of the locals even mountain bike up here but I probably wouldn't do it, you can judge for yourself.

To access the summit you can take the Pinnacle Rock trail(trailhead and parking provided). The trailhead is on the west side of the mountain and is a nine hundred foot vertical gain in a short distance hike(you will be climbing really high really fast). I would recommend bringing good hiking boots, a companion, a camera and plenty of water on your journey to the top. Takes a good hour to reach the top of the trail and about 45 minutes down but give yourself a little time to explore up top.

The fifth cache of the series is placed at the top, Pinnacle Peak. Please replace cache as it was or better to avoid being muggled. Includes logbook and pen. No FTF Prize except some major bragging rights. Good Luck and Enjoy The View. Placed with SloMo0414.
