Geocache Description:

The City of Mission Viejo constructed two bocce ball courts at the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center in 2016.  Residents of all ages are encouraged to play bocce ball on the courts that are made from authentic crushed oyster shells, which is the traditional Italian method of construction.

Bocce ball, otherwise known as bocci, boccie, volo, lawn bowling or Italian bowling, is played with the small ball, also known as the jack or pallino, and eight larger balls.  The sport is a favorite at picnics, parks and barbecues.

These courts are open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis and equipment can be checked out at the front desk of the Norman P. Murray Community Center.

Bring your own pen (BYOP) and no room for treasure.  Lots of muggles walking along the path around the Village Green and some cool public art.

July is National Parks and Recreation Month and as a result, the Mission Viejo Recreation and Community Services Department has hidden geocaches around town to encourage people to explore parks and open spaces. Visit the City’s website to learn about other hidden geocaches and to celebrate Parks Make Life Better! http://cityofmissionviejo.org/geocaching
