We hope that you enjoy this series, and are able to discover many of the places
that make the area unique and special.

The Ohio Star Quilt is one of the oldest and most loved patterns in American quilting history.
For over two centuries, the pattern has integrated itself in American art and history.

• Ohio Star blocks are recognized by their three rows of squares:
a top and bottom row comprised of a square of fabric,
a middle square made up of quarter-cut triangles, and another square.
The middle row is made up of a quarter-cut triangle square, a square
and another quarter-cut triangle square.
When sewn together, they create a star shape.

A treasured symbol of state pride, the Ohio Star pattern
has become synonymous with the Midwestern region of the United States.
Many quilters have employed the traditional pattern of the Ohio Star into their quilts,
and creating their own contemporary variations of this popular pattern.
