Geocache Description:

Miterwort is here in good company with other nice wild flowers. You have to cross the creek. The rocks can be slippery so bring a stick and wear boots, especially if the water is apt to be high.

Mitella is a genus of flowering plants known as miterworts, two-leafed miterworts or bishop's caps. Mitella species are native to temperate and arctic North America and Asia.

The flower is a fantastic bit of geometry, especially evident when viewed with a hand lens. The single pair of leaves at midstem accounts for the species name. The common and genus names allude to the fruit, which has the shape of a small cap or bishops miter.

Other flowers I noticed nearby were Larkspur violets, Solomon's seals, Wild geranuium and Twisted Stalk.

The cache is a camoed "micro" pill bottle with a snap lid. Please check that it's on tight. The log has a rubber band around it and is in a tiny zip lock plastic bag. Please BYOP and no tweezers as they tend to kill the plastic.FLLT Permit E.H.#05
