One of the most scenic parks in Medina County is Allardale, located in Granger Township.
Named after Stan and Esther Allard who donated their family farm to the park district in 1992,
this rolling site offers a wide variety of habitats and scenic areas.
A tribute to the Allard's commitment to land stewardship,
this site boasts one of the finest reforestation areas in the State of Ohio.
Beginning in the 1930s, Stan Allard planted trees on areas too steep to farm.
Over his lifetime, more than 100,000 trees were planted at Allardale.
The nature trails provide visitors an opportunity to view these tree plantings,
from the newest stands of tulip poplar and oaks to mature woods.
A large stand of native beech trees is also found here.

This is a field puzzle geocache.
At each waypoint, you must collect information to solve for the coordinates for the final cache location.
It would be a good idea to have a pen and paper with you.
Use this formula:
N 41 11.ABC
W 081 42.DEF
The posted coordinates bring you to the Allardale Park map.
To solve for A: How many different trails are here at Allardale?
To solve for B: Inset into the brickwork in this area are pavers that illustrate the leaves
of various trees that can be found in the park. Count the number of these pavers.
At the next waypoint (N 41° 11.441 W 081° 41.949) you will be at an informational sign.
To solve for C: Count the number of letters in the first word at the top of the sign.
Continue to the next waypoint (N 41° 11.510 W 081° 42.144).
Yes, you gotta' go up there! I promise you-- the view is worth it!
To solve for D: Look at the dedication plaque on the bench in honor of Lavonne and Wilfred Davis.
What is the third numeral on this dedication plaque?
To solve for E: How many numerals are on the dedication plaque for "Woody's Bench"?
Additional logging REQUEST:
Take a photo of yourself/your caching team at the dedication overlook and post to your log.
At the next waypoint (N 41° 11.418 W 081° 42.136 ) you will be at another informational sign.
To solve for F: How many people are pictured on this sign?
