Also known as National #AndAlbert Day!
National Get Outdoors Day is a new annual event to encourage healthy, active outdoor fun. As geocachers, we already take advantage of the outdoors often, but here is a great chance to play in one of Spartanburg's newest county parks, and enjoy all that the outdoors has to offer!
Join us for a fun afternoon at Holston Creek Park!
We will be set up at the shelter from 2:30 pm until 5:30 pm
This will be a BYFD (Bring your Favorite Dessert!) Event, so if you have a favorite drink, cookie, cake, ice cream, fruit, or whatever else that you want to share, BRING IT!
Plenty of parking places for your geo-ride and lots of room to Get OUTSIDE!
Boasting the most beautiful mountain view in Spartanburg County, Holston Creek Park offers two full-sized baseball/softball fields, a multipurpose field, a large picnic shelter with restrooms and vending machines, as well as a playground and a tournament-ready disc golf course. In the immediate future, nature trails (in which the county will be placing some geocaches in the future for their next Geocoin Trail...hint...hint!), a mountain bike course, and a fishing pond will be added.
And as a special bonus, Groundspeak will be awarding anyone logging an event or finding a cache on this day a new National Get Outdoors Day 2016 Souvenir, too!
Be sure to share your adventures and photos all month log on your favorite social media platforms! Just tag your posts with #Geocaching #GetOutdoors for a chance to be re-shared by Geocaching.
