While in the area geocaching it is almost inevitable that you will see or hear Hornets roaring around. For some the sound is annoying. For others it has become a relaxing sound. If you wish to see jets, there is always the Cold Lake Museum (GC36EJV) and the airfield viewing area on the base (GC55J81).
Most years, Cold Lake hosts Maple Flag during late spring time. This is a premier combined forces exercise bringing together Canada’s NATO allies and friendly air forces from around the world.
This series consists of 35mm-ish round containers hung from trees and signs.
For the safety of livestock in the area, please do not rehang geocaches on fence lines.
