We enjoyed camping at the Mission Wells Trailhead in the Dry Valley OHV area in northern Nevada. The area has been nicely developed with tables and firepits, but bring your own water and there are no toilet facilities at this time. There are a plethora of trails and roads to ride, but usage is low except for an occasional race and the area is open to hunting in season. We have visited a few times and have not seen another vehicle at all. Desert conditions should be expected, travel accordingly.
The road to the OHV area is well marked at the railroad crossing near Sand Pass, and in dry conditions should be good for high clearance vehicles and toy haulers. The BLM has maps available at two trailheads.
The peanut butter jar is camo'd and tucked into a sage brush. Only a few million of those out here, good luck.
