This part of the park once belonged to Ursuline Academy, about 1900. This was a Catholic girls school. Later it became Villa Angela high school. To the west, was Euclid Beach Amusment Park. That closed in 1969. After the school closed in the mid 1980s. the City of Cleveland got the land. Shorthly after, The State of Ohio took over and this was a state park. But the best happened when the Cleveland Metroparks aquired the property in June, 2013. They have made great improvements.

Old maps show Ursuline Ave near here. I think it would have been the area lined by pines you would notice nearby.
I added a point of interest nearby. It is the largest Tulip tree I've ever seen. At the base, it is about 23 ft. in diameter.
