M2M - The Vertical Spur Line Traditional Cache

Cache # 299.

The Murray to Mountains Rail Trail is a wonderful cycling trail between Wangaratta and Bright, with a side track running from Everton Station to Beechworth. The trail is suitable for road bikes.

These are essentially caches placed for cyclists using the trail so car drivers may need to park and "walk the walk".

This little section of the trail between Everton Station and the Horseshoe Creek is a pleasant ride and I have discovered a few interesting places to stop along the way. 

Part of the old railway line railing put to good use as fencing.  Along this section there are quite a lot of railway pegs that have made their way to the surface after what looks like some recent grading.
