Geocache Description:

Cache #AHT04 is part of the system of trailside caches placed by the Allegheny Highlands Trail along the former track of the West Virginia and Pittsburgh Railroad.  It is sited on level ground with the bicycle trail base of compacted shell and gravel.


AHT Cache #4 is part of the system of trailside caches that reaches from Elkins to Hendricks, West Virginia.  The trail system starts outside Elkins and ends, 25 miles later, at the Hendricks Trail Head, outside Hendricks, West Virginia.  The trail is paved with a combination of asphalt and crushed shell and gravel, with a moderate elevation change between Montrose and Porterwood.  The cache log book is inside a small, waterproof, Tupperware storage container with geocache identification,
