Geocache Description:

Nau mai haere ki Aotearoa!

Kia ora and haere mai!

We have been living in Aotearoa for a while and thought it would be time to bring some Kiwi joy to Mainz. First hurdle to jump for you is the language, which might sound strange to you but is native to the Kiwis. Don't worry, you'll make it! So sit down, crack a Steinlager or a Speight's, and enjoy the mystery before heading to GZ. But watch out, only Kiwiana experts will find the stash. Have fun, bro!

  1. The Ozzies are claiming it for themselves, the Kiwis claim it as well. But it is actually named after a Russian ballet dancer. Typically, it mainly consists of fresh kiwifruit and eggwhites. Its name is? (7 letters, first letter = A)
  2. He was an outstanding player of the 2015 RWC and a member of the winning All Blacks. Four years before, he missed the home final due to an injury. He has scored the most points for the ABs to date. Every kid in NZ knows his name – it is?  (2 words – total of 12 letters, first letter of given name = B)
  3. Famous young volcano in the Hauraki Gulf – the Maori were present while it erupted. The island is nowadays a famous tourist spot. What is the name of the island?  (9 letters, first letter = C)
  4. Find out what a JAFA is? Which city is meant when talking abot a JAFA? (8 letters, first letter = D)
  5. What are Jaffas? In which city can you spot heaps of them once a year in NZ? (7 letters, first letter = E)
  6. Everyone knows the kiwi, but do you know the piwakawaka? The English name is quite fitting for that lovely bird. Do you know it? (7 letters, first letter = F )
  7. The Maori settled in NZ after sailing with seven canoes from this island. What is the name of the island? (9 letters, first letter = G)
  8. Famous Maori war dance. (4 letters, first letter = H)
  9. Finally, some Kiwi geocaching stuff: where was the first MEGA held in Aotearoa? (7 letters, first letter = I)
  10. What is the GC code of the oldest active cache in NZ? (2 digits, take the first one = J)

You'll find the stash by the use of the following equation and after converting the letters into numbers:

N49° 5[B+E].[D][I-1][F+1] E008°1[C-A].[C-G][J][H/B]

The hide is nothing very spectacular - just a nice box close to a neat spot.
