This cache is placed near the decaying remains of a pioneer homestead. If you look to the grass field to the North of the road you can still see a few posts poking up through the grass from what is left of the pioneer homestead. My family has ran cows and farmed in the area for 75+ years...as a boy I remember driving past the homestead (it was still mostly standing at the time) and my Dad's hired man would tell me that the house was his "summer home"...hence the name of the cache -- Mac's Summer Home.
The area is beautiful. It may initially seem barren and desolate, but if you pause for just a few minutes you'll hear birds chirping, catch a jackrabbit or cottontail rabbit running across the road, see a coyote looking for field mice in the far hill or see mule deer grazing in the grass fields. This is home. Enjoy the beauty as you search for this cache!
This road is not maintained in the winter and may not be accessible during those times.
You're looking for a camoflauge container.
