Impossible to miss, the Masso Leopoldino rises far above Sorano‘s skyline, watching over the town and the Fortezza Orsini on the other side of the town. Built in the 18th century, the fortress was commissioned by the Duke Leopold of Lorraine in an attempt to make the city impregnable.
The viewing platform features an equally old clocktower that is still working and indicating the time with its bells. The cache itself is not on the platform of the Masso - but nearby.
In order to find the coordinates, first climb up to the clocktower to enjoy the views.
