Geocache Description:

Because a number of the original caches in this series have gone missing or have been archived, we are trying to fill in some of the gaps - mostly on the southern section of the Rutland Round.

The Rutland Round

The Rutland Round is a circular walk of about 65 miles around the smallest county in England. Although it is a footpath around Rutland, it only once follows the County boundary, and that is between Thistleton and Teigh. Diversions are also made to visit Oakham, and Rutland Water.

The route is well waymarked with an acorn device set in a yellow arrow placed on a dark green background. The route can be started from wherever you like, and walk as much, or as little as you want.

The route is split into five sections, and where there was not an obvious name for the cache the name of a bird has been used.

Section 4. Uppingham to Barrowden. 13 miles

The walk continues from section three, and there are several hilly stretches along this route. You can of course cheat, and park where the path meets a road.

The route can also be found on OS Explorer map No.234.

PLEASE REPLACE CACHE AS FOUND and feel free to replace logs if full or wet - thank you.
