So we were looking over Google maps of the Washburn County forest are in Casey township northwest of Spooner, WI, looking for some places to drop a cache or two. And this interesting green feature caught our eye. Two equal sized green squares, a different shade from the surrounding green. So we decided to wander in and take a look. It appears that they are a couple of square growths of jack pines. Curiosity satisfied, we placed a cache in the vicinity. Lots of trails (forest roads and game trails) criss-cross the area, so you may be able to get pretty close using those. We did what we always do and bushwhacked it. Beware of ticks, thorns, poison ivy, mosquitoes, and hunters during the appropriate seasons.
