William Winter (1841-1914)
Willian was born in Ontario and worked as an agent with the Canadian Pacific Railway. He arrived in Manitoba in the early 1990's and settled in Brandon. He served as Mayor in 1883.
William Winter was Chair of the Brandon School Board and a member of the Board of Governors for the Brandon General Hospital. He also operated a general store at the corner of Rosser Avenue and Sixth Street.
William left Brandon and moved to Detroit, Michigan in 1887. He lived there for 27 years before passing on November 28, 2914.
He is commemorated in Brandon by Winter Bay.
