Geocache Description:

This should be an easy find. Please replace apparatus exactly as it was found. Bring your own Pen. There is unfortunately no space to store swag or Travel Bugs.

The narrow streets and small inner city plots make this area a plethora of interesting sites and images. Situate on the Berea Ridge, in days gone by it used to be the Gateway to the hinterland from the wealthier suburbs toward the beach. Many of the original homesteads have been retained and as industry and community pressures have encroached upon the area, the resilient nature of the area has resisted, leaving us with a pocket of beauty attached to the fabric of the city. Across the road is the nurses home to the nearby hospital - one of two a stones throw apart. Around the corner is the reformed Jewish Synagogue, and over the crest is the St. Thomas Cemetery. Given the elevation of the Ridge, it made perfect sense at the time to place a radio repeating station here. Of course, the technology demanding such a location has advanced, but the hallmark radio mast is still functioning today. After signing the log, take a lazy meander back to your life, and take in the delightful sights that await your discovering. This inner city suburb is indeed a gem, changing and yet not seeming to change; unbending to the ravishes of time.
