Robert Hall (1849-1911)
Robert was born in Huntington county, Quebec on May 24th 1849. His parents were both from Ireland. Robert worked for the Montreal Telegraph Co. in the construction department. He was responsible for constructing the first telegraph line in Manitoba for MTC. He also worked for the Imperial Life Assurance Company.
Robert had four daughters. His wife, Sarah Good, and his daughters moved to a homestead north of Griswold on the Assiniboine River. He purchased neighboring propertis and owned over 2000 acres of land to raise horses and cattle. From 1885 to 1886 he was the Reeve of the Rural Municipality of Whitehead and served as Brandon Mayor from 1903 to 1904.
Hall passed in Brandon on February 2, 1911.
