Henry Lamon Adolph (1862-1940)
Henry was born on February 23, 1862 in Brant Township, Bruce County, Ontario. He was a school teacher for 3 years, starting in 1879 and came west with his father in 1882. They settled in Napinka District, west of the present site of Medora is. Henry continued his law studies while helping on the family farm. He later taugh school in Souris and Brandon -- being one of the city's first teachers. In 1892 he started in one of the first law firms in Brandon (Sifton & Phillips)
Henry completed his law degree in 1896 and opened his own office. In 1911 he was barrister with the firm. He was a director of the Canadian Guaranty Trust Company, vice president of the Brandon Creamery and Suppy Company, and president of the Adolph Lumber Company located in BC.
Hentry was Brandon Mayor from 1909 to 1910 and served as a member of the City Parks Board for over 40 years.
He passed away in Brandon on February 25, 1940 and is buried in the Brandon Cemetery.
